The builder, yesterday, marked out the site ready to dig footings. When I arrived this morning, (-5 degrees and a frost that looked like snow) formwork was being made, the backhoe was on site and the bolts for the steel piers were to be put in place.
Already there was a hitch, the steel company had made the pier plates too big and the bolts would not be able to be positioned correctly. It meant a trip back into town for the builder so he could fix the problem.
By the end of the day, (we viewed it in the dark), the footings had been dug, the rio in place, formwork done and the bolts put in position.
More tommorrow!
